The MDC maintains some of Connecticut's more popular recreation

        areas, including Lake McDonough and the West Hartford Reservoir and Reservoir 6. MDC also manages land along the West Branch of the Farmington River, one of the largest tracts of open

space in the state.  This stewardship includes the preservation

of wildlife and natural resources as well as making the area available for recreation.
