INVITATION TO BID

            Sealed proposals, addressed to The Metropolitan District for the following Contract(s) will be received at the office of the District Clerk of The Metropolitan District, First Floor, 555 Main Street, Hartford, Connecticut (mail address:  555 Main Street, Hartford, Connecticut 06103) until 2:00 PM, MAY 20, 2008, at which time they will be opened and read at the District's Headquarters Building, 555 Main Street, Hartford, Connecticut.

                        Contract No. 2007-65 – FURNISHING AND INSTALLING SANITARY SEWER MAIN AND APPURTENANCES IN ALL OR IN PORTIONS OF OLD MILL LANE, OLD MILL LANE (PRIVATE WAY), MOUNTAIN TERRACE ROAD, WEST HARTFORD, CONN.

                          Contract No. 2008-36A – FURNISHING HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS ON A TEMPORARY BASIS FOR MID-CONNECTICUT WASTE PROCESSING FACILITY AND OTHER PROJECT LOCATIONS

            The goal for MBE/WBE participation expressed as a percentage of the total contract amount shall be 8.5 percent with the following makeup:  MBE 6.0 percent, WBE 2.5 percent.  Bids which do not meet the goal may be deemed non-responsive.  All MBE/WBE’s shall be certified by the State of Connecticut.

            Information for bidders, proposal forms, specifications and other forms may be examined and obtained on or after MAY 6, 2008, at the office of the Purchasing Agent of The Metropolitan District, Second Floor, 555 Main Street, Hartford, Connecticut.
