MDC 2002 Winter Coat Drive

HARTFORD – The Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) is having a Winter Coat Drive in partnership with Button Up Connecticut.  Button Up Connecticut is a successful project founded by Siracusa Moving & Storage in New Britain.  MDC will host a coat collection for men, women and children in need in the Capital Area.

            The MDC will commence this drive today and finish on Friday, November 22, 2002.  The MDC and Button Up Connecticut will accept your new and used winter coats and jackets, clean and in good condition at the MDC’s lobby at 555 Main Street, Hartford.  MDC’s business hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

            The collected coats will be distributed on December 5 via United Way of the Capital Area, 30 Laurel Street in Hartford.

            A non-profit municipal corporation chartered by the Connecticut General Assembly in 1929, the MDC supplies water and sewer services to its eight member municipalities:  Bloomfield, East Hartford, Hartford, Newington, Rocky Hill, West Hartford, Wethersfield and Windsor.  The MDC also supplies treated water to portions of Glastonbury, East Granby, South Windsor, Farmington and Portland.
