HARTFORD – The underground fire and power failure that occurred Tuesday has disrupted the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) customer service phone line.

Customers calling the MDC at 278-0127 will not be able to reach a customer service representative. Customers with routine business concerning their accounts are asked to try again later.

Customers calling about water or sewer emergencies may call the main MDC number at 278-7850, extension 3600, to be connected to the MDC emergency dispatch center.
