BEST HIKING/BIKING TRAIL IN GREATER HARTFORD
The MDC’s West Hartford Reservoir has the best hiking/biking trail in Greater Hartford, according to the results of Hartford Magazine’s fifth annual reader’s poll. The results, published in the magazine’s May edition, notes that the reservoir’s “30 miles of paved and gravel roads, plus dirt paths, five reservoirs and 3,000 acres of woodlands, make this a favorite spot. It’s particularly spectacular in autumn.” The runner-up was Talcott Mountain, Bloomfield. According to the magazine, hundreds of ballots were cast in a variety of categories, including leisure activities, shopping, dining, attractions and local personalities. The reservoir has won the award in previous years, as well.
