MDC COMMUNITY AFFAIRS CELEBRATES EARTH DAY

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) will once again celebrate Earth Day and have an All-Species Parade on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. located at the West Hartford Reservoir, 1420 Farmington Avenue.

There is no charge for this MDC community service event to our guests. Donations of used stuffed animals are accepted and will be repaired and cleaned for needy kids.

Children are invited to dress up as their favorite animal or bring a stuffed animal while participating in the All-species parade. Prizes and refreshments will be available for everyone to enjoy.

Bill Shontz, formerly of the nationally acclaimed duo Rosen Shontz will provide fun entertainment.

A non-profit municipal corporation chartered by the Connecticut General Assembly in 1929, the MDC supplies water and sewer services to its eight member municipalities: Bloomfield, East Hartford, Hartford, Newington, Rocky Hill, West Hartford, Wethersfield and Windsor. The MDC also supplies treated water to the Town of Portland and portions of Glastonbury, East Granby, South Windsor and Farmington.
