From the West or East: Take I-84 to Exit 39 (Route 4) and proceed west on Route 4 for 5.9 miles into Unionville. Continue on route 4 for an additional 2.6 miles until you reach an intersection at which you will continue straight onto route 179 (do not turn left on Route 4). Continue straight on Route 179 through Collinsville to Route 44 (also known as Albany Turnpike). Turn left onto Route 44 and follow through New Hartford into Barkhamsted.  Proceed to intersection of Route 181 and turn right onto Route 181 North.  Proceed to Pleasant Valley Center.  At the stop sign in Pleasant Valley Center, proceed straight onto West River Road (Route 181 branches off to the right).  Proceed on West River Road to stop sign at Route 20 in Riverton.  Turn Right onto Route 20.  At the next stop sign (you will see the Riverton Inn straight ahead of you), take a left to stay on route 20.  Take the next left onto Hogback Road (approximately 1/2 mile).  Take the next left into the entrance of Goodwin Dam and proceed over the Goodwin Dam.

To reach the Goodwin Hydroelectric Facility, take a left at the next driveway (this driveway is after you travel over the Goodwin Dam).

The West Branch Headquarters will be on Durst Road on your left at approximately 1/2 mile past the turn for the Goodwin Hydroelectric Facility.

From Waterbury and Points West of Waterbury: Take I-84 East to Route 8 North to Winsted. When you reach Winsted you will come to the intersection of Route 8 and Route 44 (there is a traffic light at this corner). Take a right at this traffic light onto Route 44 West. At the bottom of the hill, bear right at the traffic light back onto Route 8 North (the Northwestern Connecticut Community College will be on your right at this corner). Proceed on Route 8 North to Route 20 East through Riverton (you will bear right over the Farmington River).  At the next stop sign (you will see the Riverton Inn straight ahead of you), take a left to stay on Route 20.  Follow to the intersection of Hogback Road, approximately 1/2 mile.  Turn left onto Hogback Road (this will be the first left after the turn at the Riverton Inn).  Take the next left into the entrance of Goodwin Dam and proceed over the Goodwin Dam.

The West Branch Headquarters will be on Durst Road on your left at approximately 1/2 mile past the turn for the Goodwin Hydroelectric Facility.

From the North: Take I-91 South to Exit 40 (Route 20 West). Take the Granby Exit (Route 20) and proceed through Granby into West Granby. Take a left onto Route 219 West towards Barkhamsted (approximately one mile past West Granby Center). Proceed on Route 219 West into Barkhamsted to the intersection of Route 318. Bear right onto Route 318. Proceed on route 318 (cross over the Saville Dam). At stop sign take a left and continue into Pleasant Valley over the Farmington River. At the stop sign in Pleasant Valley Center, turn right onto West River Road.  Proceed on West River Road to stop sign at Route 20 in Riverton.  Turn right onto Route 20 and continue through Riverton (you will bear right over the Farmington River).  At the next stop sign (you will see the Riverton Inn straight ahead of you), take a left to stay on Route 20.  Follow to the intersection of Hogback Road, approximately 1/2 mile.  Turn left onto Hogback Road (this will be the first left after the turn at the Riverton Inn).  Take the next left into the entrance of Goodwin Dam and proceed over the Goodwin Dam.
