CONNECTICUT RIVER RELIEF INTERCEPTOR
![]() The Connecticut River Relief Interceptor (CRRI) maximizes the
conveyance of wet weather combined sewage to the Hartford Water
Pollution Control Facility (HWPCF). Along with completed plant
improvements detailed in the Improvements to HWPCF, the second barrel of
the interceptor provides the means by which the potential of sustained
overflows at the Masseek Street regulator are significantly reduced once
the original Connecticut River Interceptor approaches its capacity.
From the Masseek Street regulator southerly to the HWPCF, the two pipes
will operate in parallel, thereby reducing the potential for overflows
under springtime Connecticut River freshet conditions. Go to Hartford Water Pollution Control Short Term Improvements |
